Q-Dawg in Chattanooga

This weekend, we went to Chattanooga, Tennessee for a little mini-vacation.

First, I helped Mommy make some muffins for our trip. I'm really good at stirring. Most of the batter even stays in the bowl.

On Friday evening, we arrived at the cabin we rented in the North Georgia mountains.

This was the view from our cabin. Pretty nice, huh? My favorite part was throwing rocks into the lake. Over and over and over.

On Saturday morning, we went to Rock City. It's on Lookout Mountain, outside of Chattanooga. It has rock formations that are millions of years old with walking trails to explore them all.

And beautiful views of the valley.

You can see seven states from the top. I wasn't so interested in the view. I liked running around instead.

One part of Rock City had scenes from fairy tales in the caves. It was supposed to be for kids, but I thought it was just plain creepy.

I just kept saying "no" until we got out of there.

After Rock City, we rode the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, which is the steepest passenger railway in the world. Here's a picture from the bottom of the mountain- the incline is in the middle and goes up through the trees.

Here's a picture of the inside of the train car when we were going down the mountain. Some people got scared, but I loved it!

After such a busy morning, I was pooped. I fell asleep in the car on the way back to the cabin and then when we got back, I decided I didn't need a nap. Big mistake.

In the afternoon, we went to Ruby Falls. It's a 145-foot underground waterfall. To get there, there's a guided tour that walks you through the inside of the mountain.

I hated it. I hated just about every minute of it. I don't know whether I was tired from missing my nap, or cranky from the allergies I seem to have, or mad that I couldn't run around like I prefer to do, or maybe I was even scared of being in a cave, but I hated it. I cried, I screamed, I squirmed, I kicked.

I was content for a few minutes here and there- here's a picture of one of them. I was checking out one of the rock formations we were allowed to touch with some other kids.

After about an hour of the tour (Mommy says it felt like 5 hours), we reached the waterfall. I loved this part.

Then we pretty much ditched our group and high-tailed it back to the elevator. I think that tour group might be the first group of people I've met since the day I was born that didn't say "Oh, what a lovely boy!" If any of them happen to read this blog, I apologize for the screaming!

Finally, Daddy found a playground for me to run around on and everything was cool again. Then we went back to our cabin for some rock-throwing into the lake and an early bedtime. Oh, first I spilled a package of blueberries on the floor of the Wal-Mart. That was fun.

On Sunday, we woke up refreshed and went into downtown Chattanooga. Our first stop was the Chattanooga Choo-Choo!  It's a hotel (you can actually stay in a train car!) and a train museum. I kept saying "Choo!"

I do love my trains!

There were also some really cool fountains.

And I love running!

There was also a Model Railroad Museum inside the hotel. It was pretty cool to look at, but I really wanted to pick up the trains and play with them.

We had a nice lunch in Chattanooga and then went down to the Riverfront. There was an awesome playground.

And we watched boats go by on the river.

The park had a really steep hill and some kids were sliding down the hill on cardboard.

It looked like fun, so I tried it. I climbed up a few feet and slid down on my behind. It didn't work quite as well, but I still liked it.

That was our awesome trip to Chattanooga!

O What a Genius!

O! I love the letter O. I don't know exactly where I learned about this fabulous letter, but I love finding them everywhere. I find O's in books, on street signs, on the computer, on t-shirts, on coke cans, everywhere! And I love saying "O"- it's got such a nice sound. Here's a video of me and my favorite letter:

I'm still working on the other letters, I'll let you know when I make any progress.

We're headed out to Chattanooga tomorrow for a fun weekend away, so I'll have some pictures to show you soon!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!
Easter was way more fun this year! Last year, I was only a silly baby, but now I'm such a big boy. I even helped dye the Easter eggs. I liked plopping them in the colors, even though it made a bit of a mess.

This morning, the Easter Bunny came. There were all my favorite things in my basket- trucks, balls, raisins, fruit snacks, crayons, books...

I dug right in.

I had to try out the new crayons first.

After church, I grabbed my Easter basket for our egg hunt outside.

I found an egg! And I wanted to open it right away.

Seriously, how do you get these open?

Daddy was able to crack them open. We shared some fruit snacks.

Checking out my haul...

Here's a video of the hunt

It was a pretty hot day, so I took off my sweet sweater vest. I find it's always important to dress for dinner, though. (Thanks Aunt Olivia and Uncle Kevin for my awesome shirt!)

Mommy made a tasty dinner. I was very intent on the yummy pork.

We had a great day! Hope everyone else had a great Easter! Talk to you soon!

Grandpa George's Visit

What's up, people?

This week Grandpa George came to visit! One day, Mommy was busy all day and Grandpa was in charge. We did lots of cool stuff. First, we hung around in our pajamas...

Then I showed him how I like to play on our deck.

It was a beautiful day so we walked to the playground.

And then we came home and we were both pooped. It sure is exhausting keeping up with Grandpa!

And just for fun, here's a little game I like to play:

Have a great Easter, everybody!
