Decatur Arts Festival

Hi everyone!
This morning, Mommy, Daddy and I walked downtown for the Decatur Arts Festival.
First, there was the kids' parade. There were fire trucks and police cars and lots of kids walking and riding bikes. Maybe next year I'll be in the parade.

We followed the parade to the kids' area of the festival, at one of my favorite parks.

And there were bubbles! They're just about my favorite thing right now.

I also got to play on the playground...

and in the sandbox...

and in the community garden.

They had art projects to make. I colored mine on the ground

Here's what I made:

There was a lady making balloon animals and things. Can you guess what she made me?
 (It's an airplane.)

Then we checked out the main area of the festival. Here's the pavilion with bands playing.

And here's some of the artwork. This is Pete the Cat. He's pretty famous around DeCATur.

And here are four chairs I wished I could sit in. Mommy said no.

We had a great time today! Maybe someday my art will be featured in the Arts Festival!

Big Boy Bed!

Lately, I haven't been sleeping too well in my crib, especially for my naps, so Mommy said it was time to try out a big boy bed. Yesterday, Daddy and I took apart my silly old crib and set up my cool new bed! Here's my bed with the sheets I picked out myself- they have choo choo trains on them. (Don't worry, we put the safety rail on before I got into bed for real.) I love my bed! Whenever I see it, I say "bed!"

Last night, Daddy and I read some bedtime stories...

Then we said goodnight and I was so excited to get into my bed!

Here I am at 9:00, loving my bed! (Thanks, Mommy for the flash while I was sleeping.)

And I slept all night. Not a peep out of me! I love my new bed!

The Learning Groove

Hi everyone!
I wanted to show you some pictures from my music class. Mommy and I go to class every Monday morning at my favorite bookstore, The Little Shop of Stories- right in downtown Decatur. It's my favorite because they have a train set. Music class is upstairs, and it overlooks the train set downstairs, so I spend a lot of music class staring at the train set saying "Choo!" The class is called The Learning Groove and it's pretty groovy.

One week, a photographer came to class to take pictures and he let us share them with you. (Thanks Mr. Josh- www.JoshLamkinPhotography.com)

Here I am during class. I must be taking a break from dancing.

Here's one of my teachers, Mr. Michael. He's funny.

Here's my other teacher, Mr. Eric. He's singing while my friend Anastasia and I jam out on the big drum.

Here's our class doing the Hokey Pokey.

And here are the rhythm sticks. I love them! Mommy hates them because we have to sit still when we use them. I don't like doing that. If you notice, I'm in the center of the circle. All the other kids like to sit quietly in their mommy's lap. I prefer to run around and dance and maybe throw the sticks around some.

Here's a song with the parachute. I love to dance under it.

Yeah, music class!!

P.S.- Tonight's my first night in my big boy bed! I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi everyone! For Mother's Day, Dad and I prepared a picnic for Mommy. It worked out great because while Mommy and Daddy ate in the park, I got to play at the playground and watch the skateboarders at the nearby skate park. I gave Mommy a card and a new ipod so that she can play some new songs for me. Here's a video of our day:

I hope everyone else had a great Mothers Day too!

Blue Sky Concert

Hi folks!
Yesterday, Mommy and I were just hanging around the house.

I like to use Mommy's iPod as my telephone.  Here I am looking for someone to "call".

I say "Hey!" and walk around for awhile chattering and then say "Bye." Just like Mommy. You would think I would do that on a normal phone when you guys call, but usually I just try to press the buttons to hang up.

Then I used an old bulletin board as a ramp for my trucks and some letter tiles I like so see fly down the ramp.

I wanted to slide down it, but Mommy said no. I wasn't happy.

But then I was ok again.

Today, we went to the Decatur square for a lunchtime Blue Sky Concert with my buddy, Chase, and his mommy.

We brought a blanket and a picnic lunch. I stayed on the blanket for exactly one minute.

Then I was up and wanting to go over there and over here and play with the mulch and the bushes and the kids and anything else I could find.

Here's my buddy Chase and I playing.

And I checked out the old cannon in front of the courthouse.

There were some cool leaves in a planter.

I'm having a great time playing outside in this beautiful weather!
See y'all later!
